We make every effort to have the survey report available the next business day.  Our surveys include an easily referenced list of all issues found, our recommendations, and the fair-market valuation of the vessel.  Photos taken during the survey are included throughout the report.  More information and a sample survey can be found in survey info.

NOTE: Rate increase as of November 1, 2024: Pre-purchase rate $28/ft. / Insurance rate $26/ft.

Beginning February, 2025, all surveys (pre-purchase and insurance) will be billed at $30/foot, with consideration for repeat business.

Pre-purchase inspection rates:

Vessels under 60 feet:      $28 per foot with a $500 minimum

Vessels over 60 feet:        Please call for quote

Insurance survey rates:

Vessels under 60 feet:      $26 per foot with a $500 minimum

Vessels over 60 feet:        Please call for quote

  No mileage charges for San Francisco Bay.  Trips to the Delta and Peninsula are billed at $0.80/mile.

We are also available to consult on an hourly basis on a variety of boat-related topics.  We draw from a wide range of experience inspecting, building, teaching and operating many types of water crafts.  Topics could include: coastal or offshore passage preparation, or buyer assistance to select the most appropriate boat and/or gear for an intended use.  Please call for more information and rates.
