Andy Schwenk has crossed the pond to Hawaii and back 54 times. His first trip, back in  1982, required celestial navigation and RDF when you “got close enough to smell it.”

Growing up in Anacortes, WA he worked for charter companies running power and sail boats throughout the American San Juan and Canadian Gulf Islands. “If it has engines or sails and it floats, you can bet Andy has been in the bilge and on the bridge.”

He worked for the Catalina and Nordic dealer through college in the 90’s and after 4 years in the US Army Rangers returned to the sea.

He owned and ran a sailboat rigging shop for 20 years and taught Marine Technology at the local community college.

He has taught sailing and powerboat handling and made dozens of West Coast deliveries on power and sail vessels from 30’-80’.

Andy’s experience has led him to have a keen eye for details.

As Andy is fond of saying, “Boats aren’t what I do, it’s more like who I am.”
